Prairie Land FAME Chapter – Richland Community College
Prairie Land Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) provides a unique program that aims to inspire the next generation of skilled manufacturing professionals through a collaborative approach that combines industry-driven education and hands-on experience.
Students collaborate with top companies, in the Central IL area, to develop technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the work ethic required to succeed in the rapidly evolving world of advanced manufacturing. This program is designed to give students hands-on experience while also providing them time to complete a two year associates degree. During the program, they receive formal classroom training two days per week and work onsite at their sponsoring company three days a week. The program focuses on professional presence (soft skills), lean manufacturing acumen, and technical skill attainment.
