Yesterday, Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity announced the latest round of Regional Site Readiness Program awards.
Awardees included the Urbana & Champaign Sanitary District, who have been granted $3,821,558 for wastewater infrastructure project that will support development for the 500+ acre Apollo Industrial Park located in north Champaign.
Additionally, the City of Monticello was awarded a grant in the amount of $119,500 to be used for the environmental and engineering assessment of a 28-acre site owned by iFAB Consortium Member, Thew Arnott!
iFAB leadership initially flagged the grant for Thew Arnott before enthusiastically writing a letter of support. This is the entire purpose of tech hubs like iFAB: to catch opportunities that would benefit companies in the region and then help them capitalize on those opportunities.
